Software for public administration, since 2004
From Ferlach in Carinthia, Liland IT GmbH develops modular platforms for events, communication, digital services and media management. Development, further development, operation and data storage take place in Austria.
The company
Liland IT GmbH is an Austrian software company based in Ferlach, Carinthia. Founded in 2004, it develops three modular platforms: Liland Cloud for event and communication management, Liland Portal for digital administrative services, and Liland Film Cloud for media and content management. Its clients are Austrian federal ministries, provincial administrations, federal agencies and companies.
From film production to administrative platform
Liland IT GmbH was founded in 2004 by Michael Steindl and Edmund Urbani, with the aim of mapping complex processes in software. Over the years the first sector solution for media productions grew into a family of platforms that is today used mainly in public administration. The foreign ministry, for which the first project was built in 2012, still uses Liland today.
2026
Diplomatic missions
An extension module for the diplomatic missions of the Foreign Ministry: fourteen years after the first joint project, Liland is being rolled out to 110 Austrian missions (embassies and consulates) worldwide.
2025
Liland Portal
The portal component becomes a product in its own right, Liland Portal: appointment scheduling, registrations and applications, embedded in each body's own website, in the federal corporate design. On 31 January 2025, following a new tender, the current BBG framework agreement is concluded.
2024
Hosting at the Federal Computing Centre
For federal customers, Liland Cloud is operated at the Bundesrechenzentrum (BRZ), the Austrian federal government's IT service provider.
2022
Terminmatrix and BBG
On behalf of the Federal Chancellery, the Terminmatrix is created, the module for matrix appointment booking. On 16 May 2022, Bundesbeschaffung GmbH (BBG) concludes its first framework agreement with Liland IT GmbH.
2018
Secure accreditation for the EU Council Presidency
For accreditation during Austria's EU Council Presidency in 2018, the Federal Chancellery used Liland Cloud, adapted to the requirements of the GDPR.
2019
GDPR module
A cross-ministry cooperation project of the federal government. Since then, the GDPR module has been a core function of all Liland products.
2016
Federal Chancellery
The Federal Chancellery uses Liland Cloud to organise government events and conferences with high security requirements, including the accreditation of journalists.
2014
Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs
Liland provides the official event management and registration portal for the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs (BMEIA).
2012

2008

The platform for event and participant management is created — invitation, registration, accreditation and reporting in one place. This becomes Liland Cloud.
2005
Media production
The first industry software for film productions is created: management of shooting schedules, budgets and staff resources. This later becomes Liland Film Cloud.
2004
